Roosevelt School PTA Membership 2022-2023

On behalf of the PTA, we would like to welcome everyone to the 2022-2023 school year.  If this is your first year at Roosevelt School, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to each of you.  For our returning families, we know that you are as excited as we are to be starting the school year again. We hope you all enjoyed your summer and are ready for a fun filled year.  We would like to take a minute to tell you a little bit about our PTA.

PTA stands for Parent-Teacher Association, consisting of parents, teachers and our principal, Mrs. Scardino, working together to support and enrich all students.  So, who can be a member?  If you are a parent, guardian, grandparent, aunt or uncle then you can become a PTA member.

Our primary objective as a PTA is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child and to benefit the school. To meet this important objective, we must fundraise. Here are a few programs that we sponsor and/or support: Annual Fall & Spring Book Fairs, Pumpkin Patch, Trunk or Treat, Holiday Shop, Pictures with Santa, Fun Day and various other fundraisers throughout the year. All of these fundraisers are made possible with the help and the continued support of you, the families of Franklin School.

As you can see, we are a small and busy group. This is where you can come in! We need your help, and so do our children. If you are interested in being a chaperone on field trips, serving as a class parent, or chairing a PTA committee, you must be a member of the PTA.  However, by paying your membership dues, you are not obligated to participate.  Many families feel that they cannot participate in the PTA because they cannot be at school during the day. We want everyone to feel that they are part of the Franklin School community. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, your talents and your voice are all truly needed. We can match your time constraints and interests to needed tasks. There are endless possibilities in the ways you can help.

Here at Roosevelt School, we strive for excellence and what a better way than to become involved today. We are in need of growth and are seeking volunteers to continue reestablishing the organization. We have planned some exciting events this year in hopes to get more parents involved in their children’s education. The PTA is a team effort in which we cannot succeed on our own.  We look forward to working with you in planning and organizing all of the amazing events and activities that the PTA sponsors every year.

Our first PTA meeting will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 7:00pm so please come and join us.  Attending a PTA meeting is a terrific way to get to know other families from Roosevelt School, to learn about upcoming events and to share your thoughts and new ideas.
